But never enough
Sometimes nights were too long. Sometimes too short. And sometimes they were as they were supposed to be. But never enough. Sometimes you were there and sometimes not, but you were never really there, how much I wanted it though. Your voice was empty, your touch cold and your body absent and I tried and I tried. But never enough.

Sometimes you would call my name, but not really knowing my name and saying it like I was your pet and sometimes you would not call my name at all. When I said yours, you never noticed I knew about your name with every part of my soul, you never noticed. I called your name over and over again at the same tone. But never enough.

Sometimes you'd say "I love you", sometimes you'd just stare at me, but it was always empty. Maybe just sometimes you would smile and give me a goodnight kiss, but it was always sometimes and it never felt true. And I knew there was something not right about me and you. Sometimes I just forgot about that. But never enough.

Sometimes days were lonely. Days would be always lonely when you were around, even if you'd hold me in your arms. Your arms were strong, but they would never protect me. Days were empty. You said you loved me, sometimes I said it back. I tried and I tried and you tried too, but never enough. And sometimes I had some guts to end it all. But never enough
